Multiple United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) sources have confirmed that Bob Turow, former Director of Scouting with the United States Hockey League, will be named the league’s new commissioner.

Turow will be the league’s third-ever commissioner. Richard Gallant has served as Commissioner of the USPHL for all but seven months of the league’s lifespan, which dates back to 2012. TJHP staff member Jeff Nygaard served as the USPHL’s commissioner for seven months during the 2016-17 season.

Turow owned and operated the Prospects Hockey Tournament in Ontario for many years and transitioned to the USHL position in 2006. He held the position and managed the USHL’s Central Scouting Agency until 2010 when he departed both the Prospects tournament business and the USHL.

Since 2008 Turow has owned and operated a beauty business that includes Fantastic Sam’s franchises, according to his Linkedin page. A native Canadian, he is a 1987 graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University.
