The Peoria Mustangs have confirmed that three players from the 2019-2020 team have committed to college. Jaden Gardner a netminder from Normal, IL will join defenseman Zach Eddington and forward Ian McHenry at Midland University in Nebraska.

The St. Louis Jr. Blues’ goaltender Will Oliver’s age out season came to an abrupt halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will continue his hockey career playing NCAA D-III hockey at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston next season. The St. Louis native who played prep hockey at the De Smet Jesuit posted a 10-7-0 record with a 2.48 GAA and a save percentage of .918 in 2019-2020.

The Wausau RiverWolves have tendered California native Chris Consolazio. Consolazio netted 2 goals and 3 assists in just 8 games with Fernie Academy Fury U18 program of the NAPHL.

The Oregon Ice Arena in Oregon, WI a suburb just outside of Madison sat empty for just one season following the departure of the Wisconsin Whalers who packed up and moved to Sheridan, WY following the 2018-2019 season. The NA3HL announced last month that the Oregon Tradesman will begin playing in the league in 2020. The Tradesmen franchise was once the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts and will be the tier 3 affiliate of the NAHL’s Janesville Jets. The players of the Tradesmen will be working hand in hand with trade unions in the Madison, WI area and players will be given the opportunity to learn a skilled trade in addition to furthering their hockey careers.

You may remember when the Wisconsin Whalers moved to Wyoming and the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts suspended operations the Rochester Grizzlies were moved from the West Division to the Central. With this new team filling a void in the Central, one would wonder if the Grizzlies will be moving back to the West. This is a topic I will be looking to touch on next week.
