Trimble's Drill of the Week - The Hockey Focus

Trimble’s Drill of the Week- 3 Drills for Youth Players that help with Winning Puck Battles

Drill #1- Neutral Zone lines- Active pressure on inside shoulder from coaches, players keep the puck by turning away from the pressure before accelerating towards the net to finish with a shot. See below video for drill in action.

Drill #2- Race for a loose object (tennis ball in this case), then stop, change direction and race for a loose puck, before finishing with a shot.

Drill #3- Begin your drill with an active obstacle (coach) immediately once they recieve a pass from the coach, this forces them to make a quick decision with the puck, keep it, protect it, before accelerating through an obstacle course.
