Trimble’s Drill of the Week- Simple Start of Practice Passing Warmup
Best for 12U and Younger.
Simple Circle Passing Warmup involving all 5 circles.
Break your group up into 5 small groups and position them on each of the faceoff circles. Instruct them to stationary pass on these circles, emphasizing flat passes, communication, setting good targets etc.
On the whistle player move in unison around the circle continuing to pass and advance the puck through the circle.
Next whistle- Stop and back to stationary passing
Next whistle- moving passing in the opposite direction.
Very simple but effective warmup drill for younger age groups. A lot of activity and involvement. Do drill for 3-5 minutes.
Add a coach in the circle as a defender or “Monkey in the Middle”
