Ranking Junior Hockey Leagues Is Idiotic

It seems as though every year we need to deal with every one and there mother putting out “Junior Hockey Rankings” and attempting to rank each league by there “greatness”. This year, 2022, seems to be no different when it comes to ranking Tier 3 junior hockey in the states…

There is no true way to “rank” the junior hockey leagues. Every league, team, owner and coach has something different to offer and it ultimately comes down to which program is a better fit for each individual player/family. So some random rankings list should never be a part of making your decision.

Let alone each league, each TEAM offers something different. Players and families are looking for different things when it comes to finding a team to play for in the upcoming junior hockey season. So these league rankings should carry little to no weight in making a decision. You can find great organizations in poorly “ranked” leagues and vice versa, you can find horrible organizations in highly “ranked” leagues. It doesn’t really matter when making the decision to find a place to play. You really shouldn’t be paying attention to every tom, dick and harry’s junior hockey rankings during the offseason. To find a great team, look at the coaching staff, ownership and what they have done in the past, don’t look at the “ranking” of said league that Joe Blow posted on the internet. It simply doesn’t matter.

P.S. anyone that ranks the USPHL Elite over the NA3HL is a complete moron and shouldn’t be advising players on where to go. It’s stupid, so just stop. Also, that statement isn’t saying the USPHL Elite is bad, the NA3HL is just better.
